Blurred Lines, by Jessica Prince

Synopsis: Aurora Keller thought she’d lucked out when she decided to put down roots in Redemption, Tennessee. She had a new business, new friends, and a picture-perfect little house. There was just one problem, and it came in the form of her six-foot-three tattooed, muscle-bound neighbor from hell, who just so happened to be her best friend’s future brother-in-law. It really wasn’t fair that Satan’s offspring was so nice to look at.

Callum Morrison wasn’t a good man. Or at least that was what he’d convinced himself. After a series of bad decisions that had resulted in the worst years of his life, all he was looking for was peace and quiet. Too bad he bought a house right next door to the one woman he wanted but could never have. That was enough to make any man grumpy.

What had started as a war against two neighbors turned into something so much more. And if they aren’t careful, the fallout could destroy them both.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Review: This is Book 6 in the Redemption series. We first meet the main characters, Aurora and Callum, in Book 4, which is Lark and Clay's book. Aurora is Lark's best friend who followed her to Redemption to rain holy hell down on a bunch of asshats who were treating her poorly. Callum is Clay's brother. I'm still mad at Clay, but I like Callum quite a bit.

So basically, I've been mad at Redemption (which is the name of the town where this is set) and just about everybody who lives there since Lark's book. She may have forgiven them, but I had not. I adored Lark's best friend, Aurora, though, and figured her move to town improved greatly on the quality of people as a whole. So, I was quite excited to see Aurora not only get her own book but be paired with Callum, who desperately needed someone with Rora's grit and strength in order to have his chance at healing and love. It's a bumpy ride to this HEA, folks, so be prepared. But it's so worth the bouncing around it takes to get there.

The books in this series are best read in order to get the full effect because there are many cross-over characters. However, enough details are given on the backstory of these characters that this can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Webster's defines resting book face as follows: (a) the look a person gets when someone interrupts them while they're reading a really good book; and (b) the vacant stare of a reader who is mentally lost in their book world when reading isn't possible. Okay, fine. It's not in Webster's. But it should be.
