Synopsis: I, Cooper Rock, baseball god, worshipper of women, hometown hero, beloved son and brother, and owner of a well-deserved ego, have always reached for the stars. Usually in baseball. In love? Nah. When you’ve played the field as much as I have and haven’t been bit by the bug, you’re immune. Or so I thought until she walked back into my life.
Waverly Sweet. Pop music sensation. Universally beloved for good reason. She’s freaking awesome. Kind. Funny. Talented. Sexy as hell. Real. And still completely out of my league. But I have been hit by the Waverly Sweet tour bus of love, tumbled head over heels, and come up in a field of Waverly-scented roses. This is it. She’s my one and only, and this time, I won’t screw it up. I’m cleaning up my reputation. I’m ignoring the doubters. I’m channeling everything I have into proving to her that I can be the man she deserves. No matter what else I have to sacrifice for love. Including baseball.

Review: Two of my favorite things are baseball and Pippa Grant books, and this amazing merger of the two kept me captivated from the get-go. I have loved every single Copper Valley Fireballs book, but I've gotta admit that I was a teeny-tiny bit worried about this one. Cooper's been a real butthead for several years now, refusing to speak to the author and let his story be known. When I saw that he'd been waiting for a pop princess, I just couldn't wrap my brain around it. I thought he'd end up with some adorkable girl like his teammates had done. Turns out that Waverly is adorkable in her own way, and she won me over as fast as she did Cooper. Like Team Wooperly (if you read it, you'll get it), I couldn't see how they would work through all the external conflicts and have a life together, but once again, Pippa worked her writing wizardry and worked everything out perfectly. This book is full of the snort-inducing laughter that is typical of a Pippa book, so if you need a good laugh, don't hesitate...buy this baby and get to reading.
