Until It Was Love, by Pippa Grant

Synopsis: There are a million reasons why I shouldn’t date Fletcher Huxley. He’s a growly-faced, stubborn-streaked, international rugby legend trying to revive his flailing career in the US after being canned by his team overseas. While he might have the good kind of thunder thighs, intriguing tattoos, and a booty of steel, he also holds the top position on my very short nemesis list thanks to what happened the first time we met. Plus, his mustache is as terrible as the reason he’s picked me to be the woman he wants to date. But he has one big checkmark in the why this date is a good idea he’s my brother’s new teammate. They already hate each other. And my brother has made an unfortunate habit of interfering with my love life recently. So a revenge date with Fletcher to make my brother mad? While letting Fletcher think this date is merely for the good of the team? Yep. I’m in. I’m moving to London for work in a month. And it’s just one date. What could possibly go wrong?

Until It Was Love is a banter-tastic romcom featuring an overgrown snack of a man with a soft spot for his purse dog, a normally optimistic life coach trying to live her best life, a mustache catastrophe, and one little tiny fainting spell. It stands alone and comes complete with a swoony happily ever after that will leave your heart in a happy puddle of joy.

Review: It's next to impossible to not love a Pippa Grant book unless you are a curmudgeon who doesn't like to laugh. I personally like to laugh as much as possible, and this book kept the snickers coming. I had visions of Roy from Ted Lasso for Fletcher; I loved Fletcher, and the fact that he had a mini dachshund named Sweet Pea that he carried around in a pouch pushed him so far up my list of favorite Pippa male leads that Zeus, Ares, and Beck better watch out. Fletcher and Goldie as a couple are also right up there at the top of my list. This one will definitely be a multiple-read book for me, and I can't wait to see where Pippa goes next with the Copper Valley sports world.

The Secret Hook-Up, by Pippa Grant

Synopsis: You’d think nearly dying trying to get out of a too-tight gown in a dressing room and being saved by a strong, competent man was a good thing. The charity auction where he gets into a bidding war to win you. And now, because you’re one of few female coaches in professional baseball, and he’s the captain of the local professional hockey team, and he paid a ridiculous sum of money for you…The entire city is shipping you. You can’t leave your apartment without getting a knowing wink from strangers. Your bosses want to use the publicity to have you jointly launch a new community outreach program. That’s bad enough. It truly is. But even worse? Duncan Lavoie, the green-eyed, curly-haired, dimple-cheeked, hot-as-lava hockey player wants a second chance. And he’ll play dirty to get it. The Secret Hook-Up is a laugh-out-loud rom...
Webster's defines resting book face as follows: (a) the look a person gets when someone interrupts them while they're reading a really good book; and (b) the vacant stare of a reader who is mentally lost in their book world when reading isn't possible. Okay, fine. It's not in Webster's. But it should be.

The Body in the Backyard, by Lucy Score

Not only does Griffin Gentry show up unexpectedly at Riley Thorn’s door—the real shock is that he’s begging her for help. Riley’s hot private investigator boyfriend Nick Santiago refusing to take the job is…well, less of a surprise. Too bad for Nick that his octogenarian business partner overrules him and takes the lead on Griffin’s case. It’s only a matter of time before Griffin brings the danger directly to their doorstep. And with Riley and Nick busy interviewing suspects, that leaves their elderly roommates to wreak havoc in the surveillance department.
